It started in a garden

Ivel & True began with one oak beam, some borrowed hand tools, and a quiet obsession with doing things properly.

I’m Will, and I started making mantelpieces in my Somerset back garden - not to build a business, just because I loved working with wood.

Built by hand, grown by word of mouth

There was no grand plan. Just long evenings and weekends, and a commitment to making each piece better than the last. Customers noticed the care. They told their friends. Before long, I moved into a proper 1,800 sq ft workshop and built a small, skilled team that shares the same values.

Craftsmanship without compromise

We don’t do conveyor belts or corner-cutting. Every piece we make starts with solid oak and passes through the hands of someone who genuinely cares. From mantelpieces to tables and beyond, our work is grounded in simplicity, honesty, and time-earned skill.
